What is Jaundice
Jaundice is a condition where the skin and eyes turn yellow due to an excess of bilirubin in the blood, which is a yellow pigment made during breakdown of red blood cells. It often indicates liver problems or issues with the bile ducts. In newborns, jaundice is temporary and usually harmless, but in older children, it can signal underlying conditions like hepatitis or anaemia.
